Sustainability Statement

At Beltone Venture Capital (BVC), we firmly believe that sustainable economic growth in emerging markets is intrinsically linked to the ability to nurture early-stage innovation. Our mission has always been rooted in identifying and backing tech-driven, scalable business models that solve real, structural challenges across the MENA region and Africa. This means investing not only for financial returns—but for tangible, long-term impact.
Over the past year, BVC has proudly emerged as one of Egypt’s most active venture capital investors, completing 18 deals across equity and venture debt, and launching the country’s only active venture debt platform.

But what truly defines our strategy is our focus on “impactful sectors”—from fintech and healthcare to logistics, edtech, and cleantech-adjacent models. These are industries where technology isn’t just a growth enabler, but a critical tool for social and environmental change.
Through our hybrid investment approach, we support founders at the pre-seed and seed stages, providing the capital, strategic backing, and operational guidance they need to scale responsibly.

Our focus on lean, asset-light startups with clear paths to profitability isn’t just a risk management principle—it’s a way to support resilient, sustainable business models in volatile markets.
Sustainability also extends to our own structure. With Beltone’s wider ecosystem—including Microfinance, Consumer Finance, SME financing, and data science arms—we help startups improve their financial health and operational efficiency. And through our regional expansion across Morocco, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE, we aim to export scalable impact models across borders, ensuring that the value we create is not confined by geography.

As we launch Fund II, we remain committed to building a more inclusive and sustainable innovation ecosystem. Our pipeline spans HR tech, healthtech, proptech, and super apps—all of which contribute to solving systemic issues, improving access, and digitizing legacy industries. We don’t just invest in companies—we invest in the future we want to see for our region.

 World Water Day

Water is at the heart of sustainability, and World Water Day serves as a crucial reminder of the importance of conserving this vital resource. At Beltone, we recognize that access to clean water is not just a necessity but a fundamental right, aligning with SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation. This year, we encourage our employees to take small but impactful actions—such as reducing water waste, fixing leaks, and being mindful of daily consumption—to contribute to a more sustainable future. Together, we can ensure that water remains accessible for generations to come.

Giving Back to Our Community – BLFC x SEVEN

As part of the “Giving Back to the Community” initiative, the Sustainability Team organized an employee engagement activity for Beltone Leasing and Factoring and SEVEN, in collaboration with Al-Orman Charity Foundation. Together, they packed 400 Ramadan boxes, which were distributed to Eldemerdash Hospital to support patients and their families. The team also arranged a fun day for the children at the hospital, spreading joy during the holy month. Additionally, Ramadan boxes were sent to Baheya Foundation, supporting breast cancer survivors. As a deeper commitment, Beltone adopted 20 survivor women, funding their treatment journey and empowering them toward recovery.

Embracing a Sustainable Ramadan:
Simple Steps for a Greener Future

Beyond direct contributions, the Sustainability Team also shared tips and tricks for a more sustainable Ramadan through internal announcements, encouraging employees to make mindful choices that align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):

Reduce Food
Waste

Plan meals carefully, purchase only what is needed, and donate excess food to those in need. (SDG 2 & SDG 12)

Shop
Ethically

Choose sustainable and fair-trade products when shopping for Ramadan essentials. (SDG 8 & SDG 12)

Use Energy
Efficiently

Lower your carbon footprint by using energy-saving appliances and LED lighting. (SDG 7)

Conserve
Water

Be mindful of water usage, such as turning off the tap while performing ablution. (SDG 6)

Reduce Plastic
Waste

Opt for reusable or biodegradable alternatives instead of single-use plastics. (SDG 14 & SDG 15)

Give Back to the
Community

Ramadan is a time of generosity—supporting charities and those in need can make a meaningful impact. (SDG 1 & SDG 2)

Sustainability is a long-term commitment, and every mindful choice brings us closer to a more sustainable and equitable future. By incorporating these small yet impactful habits, we can collectively make a difference this Ramadan and beyond.

Earth Day

Earth on Our Hands – Celebrating Earth Day

Every April, we come together globally to recognize Earth Day—a powerful reminder of our collective responsibility to protect the planet we call home. Observed on April 22nd, Earth Day encourages individuals, communities, and organizations to take meaningful action against climate change, pollution, and biodiversity loss.
This year’s theme, “Earth on Our Hands,” highlights the power each of us holds in shaping a sustainable future. From reducing waste and conserving energy to supporting green innovation and eco-conscious policies, every effort counts.
At Beltone, we reaffirm our commitment to environmental stewardship through sustainable practices, awareness initiatives, and community engagement. Let’s use this opportunity to reflect on our impact and renew our promise to build a healthier, greener planet—for today and generations to come.
